| Food Truck Friday Tonight |
| Food Truck Friday is back! Tonight head to the Saddle Ridge Community Center at 300 Saddle Ridge Circle between 5:00 — 7:00 pm because the Big Greek returns with a Greek salads, pitas, bowls, and more. The truck will be parked around the Circle ready to sell and serve to you! | Volunteer to Help Clean up Our Stream |
| Come on out! The Annual Potomac River Watershed cleanup is taking place on Saturday, April 10th, 2021. A group of volunteers working with the City of Rockville will be removing litter from Watts Branch streams that feed into Watkins Pond. WHEN: April 10th, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm WHERE: Meet at the King Farm Park near the tennis courts and lower playground. This activity is planned to be COVID-safe activity and bags and gloves will be provided. Due to the pandemic, the City requires pre-registration. To pre-register, email Kate Gould for a volunteer waiver/registration form at kategould@me.com. This activity is approved for MCPS Student Service Learning Hours. Ask for forms when you pre-register. **Please note: this activity is not sponsored by nor affiliated with King Farm Citizens Assembly. All questions should be directed to kategould@me.com. |

| Due to COVID-19, all King Farm meetings have been held virtually since last March. But now you can easily find the Zoom registration links to all the upcoming King Farm Board of Trustees Meetings and Committee meetings online. Each meeting will have an open forum for residents to ask questions or make comments. | King Farm Spring Turf Applications |
| Beginning on April 12, 2021 (weather permitting), Community Landscape Services will be on the property for spring turf fertilizer applications. Once completed, we will post yellow notices in the appropriate locations. If you have any questions regarding this service, please contact management@kingfarm.org. The King Farm turf program has been organic since 2016. Additional information regarding the type of product used, etc. can be found in the attachment to this e-mail. |
| King Farm 2021 Annual Meeting & Election |
| The King Farm Citizens Assembly will host its Annual Meeting of the Membership and Election virtually on Wednesday, April 28th at 7:00 PM via Zoom Meeting. The primary purpose of the meeting is for presentation of the State of the Community report by the KFCA President and the election of three (3) Board of Trustees seats. The Treasurer will also provide a brief presentation on the current annual budget. Election results will be announced, and the newly elected members will be installed at the meeting. Three candidates, Sue Beckerman, Ric Ricciardi, and Matthew Roh are running for the three (3) seats on the Board of Trustees. Since the seats are not contested, a Candidate Forum will not be held. The Trustee positions are two-year terms. Candidate statements can be viewed on the King Farm website (https://kingfarm.org/2021-annual-election/), in the March edition of the King Farm Chronicle, or by requesting a hard copy from the Management Office. How to Attend the Meeting: In order to attend the 2021 Annual Meeting, residents are required to register in advance via Zoom. | Get Your Home & Lot Ready for Spring! |
| With Spring coming fast, KFCA would like to remind you of some helpful tips to get your home and property ready for warmer weather! By taking the time to prepare your home and property for Spring, you will have more time available to enjoy outdoor activities, longer days, and mild weather and spend less time on household fixes and repairs. If you are planning to make any home renovations soon, please remember that any non-routine change to the exterior of your home or lot requires submitting a design review application (DRA) and receiving approval from the King Farm ADT. SPRING CLEAN UP TIPS: – Clean gutters and downspouts and make sure they are directing water away from the house. – Cut back tree limbs and shrubs growing within five feet of the house or that are brushing up against the roof. You will create better ventilation; help dry out surfaces and prevent possible damage. – Check for and repair cracks in driveway/sidewalk. Spring is the best time to seal cracks in the driveway or any other concrete. – Pressure-wash your house, walkway, deck/patio and bring outdoor furniture out of storage. SPRING LANDSCAPE TIPS: Yard clean up – remove debris that has deposited in your yard over the winter months. Yard waste should be bagged and placed in biodegradable paper lawn bags OR 32-gallon trash cans (weight must be less than 50 pounds). Yard waste should be placed at the curb on regular collection days. Rake – remove the leaves that you missed in the fall or those that have blown-in over the long winter we’ve had. While you’re raking the lawn, you’ll also want to remove pinecones, acorns, twigs, and branches. Raking will also break up and reinvigorate the clumped-up grass. Prune – Pruning during early spring provides the best results for your trees and shrubs. Pruning bushes/trees can help revitalize them in spring and keeps their size and shape under control which is important for keeping up your curb appeal. Edge – Edging helps to define the line between your landscaping and lawn and will prevent your grass from growing into your plant beds. Fresh Mulch – Mulching improves plant health by helping to control moisture absorption by the plants and by preventing weeds. Mulch helps moisture control by absorbing water from heavy rains and releasing it over time. Mulch prevents weeds from growing by keeping them covered and weighted down. |

| The King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV) began April with its monthly Movie Club yesterday afternoon where the 2020 Italian drama, The Life Ahead, starring Sophia Loren, was discussed. The participants engaged in a very thought-provoking examination of the movie. Looking forward to the remainder of April, the KFNV will be hosting three more virtual events: 1. The monthly book club on April 8 from 12:30-2:15 pm, where the book, News of the World by Paulette Jiles will be discussed. News of the World is a 2016 American western novel, which is a current film starring Tom Hanks; 2. Coffee and Conversation on April 21 from 10:00-11:30 am, where the conversation will revolve around spring with the question: Do you have a favorite garden that you would recommend visiting? Participants are free to bring pictures of their favorite garden spots; and finally, 3. The KFNV Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 22 at 7:00 pm, where the new KFNV Board of Directors and Officers will be announced along with a discussion of KFNV operations over the last year and plans for future operations and events. The KFNV welcomes all members to this Annual Meeting and looks forward to “seeing” many members at this meeting. | Montgomery County COVID-19 Restrictions & Updates: “Montgomery County has moved toward implementation of a phased approach to reopening that will allow students and teachers back in the classroom safely, expand business opportunities and restore recreational and social activities in a way that does not unduly jeopardize public health. The steps were part of a Board of Health regulation proposed by County Executive Marc Elrich and approved by the County Council.” Among the provisions of the regulation: The County is aligning its outdoor dining with Maryland’s Department of Health guidance. Indoor dining capacity remains at 25 percent until March 26, when it will increase to 50 percent. The 10 pm time limit for alcohol service has also been eliminated. Childcare can return to group sizes and staff-child ratios in accordance with Maryland regulations. Outdoor gathering limits have been increased to 50 people or less. Indoor gathering limits have been increased to 25 people or less. Retail establishments and businesses, such as fitness centers, hair or nail salons, museums and art galleries, can operate at 25 percent capacity. Houses of worship can conduct services at 50 percent occupancy. Sports played outside can now occur with a maximum of 50 people. Indoor sports activities can be played with a maximum of 25 people. However, a letter of approval can be sought from the County for larger youth sports activities. Youth ice hockey is also allowed at 10 percent of the maximum capacity of the ice rink. On March 26, capacity limits will increase to 50 percent for retail establishments, personal service facilities, fitness centers, bowling alleys, escape rooms, museums, art galleries and pools.
