King Farm Neighbors Village News
The King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV) continued its April events with its book club on April 8th where the American western novel, News of the World, by Paulette Jiles was discussed. The KFNV Book Club participants engaged in an interesting discussion around the book’s theme of cultural differences as well as the trauma suffered by children who are separated from their parents and then reunited with them. The participants noted how especially relevant these topics are in today’s world.     Looking forward to the remainder of April, the KFNV will be hosting two more virtual events:    Coffee and Conversation on April 21 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. where the conversation will revolve around spring with the question: Do you have a favorite garden that you would recommend visiting?   Participants are free to bring pictures of their favorite garden spots; and    The KFNV Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 22 at 7:00 pm., where the new KFNV Board of Directors and Officers will be announced along with a discussion of KFNV operations over the last year and plans for future operations and events. The KFNV looks forward to “seeing” many member and volunteers at this meeting and welcomes and encourages them to offer feedback on operations and events from the past year as well as suggestions for future activities.    How to Contact KFNV: For most of our monthly events, membership is required, but membership is free and as easy as filling out an on-line or mail-in form.  We do, however, accept and welcome donations; for these donations help defray the cost of KFNV services and events. For information on how to register for the above March event, to become a KFNV member, to make a donation, or to request a “Making Memories Together” board game or an Elder Safe Community Resource Guide, please contact the Member Coordinators at kfnvinfo@gmail.com, leave a voicemail at (301) 799-8104, or view the KFNV website at www.kfnv.org.    Website: https://www.kfnv.org/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/kingfarmneighborsvillage   Email: kfnvinfo@gmail.com   Voicemail: (301) 799-8104
