King Farm Neighbors Village News

Events:
King Farm Neighbors (KFNV) ended its May activities with a joyous, virtual, musical presentation and sing-a-long on Thursday, May 27th. Wendy Lanxner, a professional musician, teacher, music therapist, composer, and arts-in-health practitioner led an interactive musical presentation in which KFNV members enjoyed Ms. Lanxner’s performance on musical instruments as well as enthusiastically participated in a lively sing-a-long. It was a lovely way to start the Memorial Day weekend.

The KFNV has a busy June schedule with the following virtual events:

1.      The monthly Movie Club from 2:00-3:30 pm on Thursday, June 3rd, where the movie, The Trial of the Chicago 7 will be discussed. This movie, directed by Aaron Sorkin, dramatizes the trial of the group of anti- Vietnam war protestors known as The Chicago 7 who were accused of inciting riots outside the Democratic National Convention in 1968;

2.      The KFNV member Book Club on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm where the psychological thriller, The Silent Patient, written by first-time novelist Alex Michaelides will be discussed. This first novel spent more than a year on the New York Times bestseller list;

3.      Coffee and Conversation on Wednesday, June 16th at 10:00 am to 11:30 am, where the participants will chat about memories of their fathers in honor of Father’s Day on June 20th; and finally,

4.      The June Highlight event on Thursday, June 24th from 4 pm to 5 pm.  At this virtual event, Paul Ballard, Esquire, an Assistant Attorney General, who is Counsel for Health Decisions Policy for the Maryland Attorney General will discuss documents related to end-of-life care, such as Advance Directives and Medical Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (MOLST). Mr. Ballard’s presentation will answer questions about both documents and their differences.  The KFNV expects this to be a very valuable and informative presentation for its community.

Please visit the KFNV website at www.kfnv.org for a complete description of all of the June KFNV events.  In addition, the KFNV Blog under the News section of the website has articles about past events.
