Events
The King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV) has several scheduled events and activities for July.
- Please meet up with the KFNV Walking Club Monday through Friday at 3:45 pm sharp at the park across from The Fontina Grille at 801 Pleasant Dr, Rockville, MD 20850. If you haven’t joined before and plan to, please send a message to kfnvinfo@gmail.com letting the Walking Club know you want to be on the Walking Club Mailing List. The Walking Club does not meet when the weather is inclement.
- On July 2, 2026 from 2:00-3:00 pm in the King Farm Community Center, KFNV Movie Club members will review the film, A House of Dynamite, a 2025 drama. This “on the edge of your seat” movie tells the story of the government’s response to a single, unattributed missile that has been launched at the United States. A thrilling film to watch–but not before you go to bed!
- On July 9, 2026 from 12:30-2:00 pm in the King Farm Community Center, the KFNV Book Club participants will discuss the novel, The Lioness of Boston by Emily Franklin. This fictional work centers on the life of Isabella Steward Gardner, a visionary who created a legacy in American art and at the same time transformed the city of Boston.
- The KFNV Friends Club will meet for lunch on July 16, 2026 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Botanero Restaurant, 800 Pleasant Drive, Rockville, MD, 20850. This is a KFNV Friends meetup and everyone is responsible to pay for their own food. Come and enjoy some lunch and camaraderie with your fellow King Farmers.
- On Monday, July 20, 2026, the KFNV Metro Club will visit the newly renovated Smithsonian’s Castle’s new exhibit, “American Aspirations,” which honors the 250th anniversary of our nation.
The particulars of the visit are:
- The KFNV Metro Club will meet on the Shady Grove Metro platform at 9:20 am to take the train to the Smithsonian stop, which is a ¼ mile walk to the Castle.
- You may have lunch at the Castle Café or a restaurant nearby.
- The group will return by Metro by 2:30 pm.
Please note you must be a member of the KFNV to participate in this event; however, membership is as easy as filling out an on-line or mail-in form with residency in the King Farm community being the only membership requirement. Please see below under “Contacting the KFNV” for how to become a member.
- On Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 7-8:30 pm in the King Farm Community Center, the KFNV will host Games Night. The KFNV will provide various board games, but you are welcome to bring your own game(s) as well. In addition, please bring your own snacks and drinks to nibble on and sip as you play your favorite board game.
- On Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 4:00-5:30 pm in the King Farm Community Center, the KFNV will host its monthly highlight event: Harvesting Health, Happiness, and Connection through Our Community Gardens. Nancy Clarke and Kate Gould, members of the King Farm Garden Club, will offer remarks on what community gardens are, different types of community gardens, and how they function. After the presentation, Ms. Clarke and Ms. Gould will offer a tour, to those who are interested, of one of the two King Farm community gardens.
- The KFNV will host Coffee & Conversation on July 29, 2026 from 10:00-11:30 am in the Community Center. The topic will be: Who is your favorite comedian(s)? Please come and chat with old friends and perhaps meet some new King Farmers as well.
Services
The KFNV continues to support King Farm residents with its community services: transportation to appointments, simple household tasks, friendly phone calls/texts, and friendly visits. Please feel free to avail yourself of all of the community services that the KFNV offers. Also, please note that if you are in doubt about whether a task could be performed by one of the KFNV volunteers, go ahead and fill out the service form on the KFNV website. Our Operations Team will get back to you to determine if the task is under our umbrella of tasks. Finally, please note that services are open to KFNV members only; however, membership is free and an easy process. See below on how to contact the KFNV to schedule any of the services or with any questions that you may have about the services as well as how to become a KFNV member.
Contacting the KFNV
KFNV membership is required for most club and group events and all services provided. Please remember that membership is as easy as filling out an on-line or mail-in form; for the only KFNV membership requirement is King Farm residency. We are a multi-generational Village; therefore, the KFNV welcomes all adult King Farm residents of all ages.
Although there is no fee to become a KFNV member, the KFNV does, however, accept and welcome donations; for these donations help defray the cost of KFNV services and events.
