The KFNV is continuing to build its community services program with:

  1. Transportation to appointments,
  2. Friendly phone calls,
  3. Friendly visits, and
  4. One new service – simple household tasks.

Please feel free to avail yourself of these KFNV services, especially the new service -simple household tasks. Examples of this service range from changing light bulbs to watering plants for a vacationing KFNV member. Please note that services are open to KFNV members only; however, membership is free and an easy process. See below on how to contact the KFNV to schedule any of the services or with any questions that you may have about the services as well as how to become a KFNV member. To schedule any of the above services or for questions, please contact KFNV or complete the online form.

The KFNV ended July with its first-ever “Bingo in the Center” yesterday in the King Farm community center. Members of the King Farm community enjoyed a fun-filled Thursday evening of bingo and camaraderie with fellow King Farmers. KFNV is hoping to sponsor more future game events. Stay tuned!

Scheduled August KFNV events are:

  1. On August 4, 2022, the KFNV Movie Club will meet to discuss the movie, Nomadland, a 2020 drama starring Frances McDormand that is based upon a non-fiction book that explores nomadic life in America; and
  2. On August 17th from 10:00 to 11:30 am, the KFNV will host its final Coffee and Conversation for the summer by discussing the topic: What was a favorite game or pastime you enjoyed as a child and/or your children enjoyed?

*Please Note: The KFNV Book Club will not meet in August; nor will there be an August highlight event.  The KFNV will resume both activities in September.

Please note that the KFNV Book Club, Movie Club, and Coffee and Conversation meet in hybrid form—both in-person and virtually. Specifically, the KFNV has reserved the King Farm Community Center, 300 Saddle Ridge Circle, Rockville, MD 20850 for these in-person meetings.  In accordance with the policy adopted by the KFNV Board of Directors, people attending KFNV sponsored, in-person events must be vaccinated per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID recommendations. Wearing a mask is optional. For those unable to join in-person, the KFNV will offer a Zoom option. Finally, the KFNV offers transportation to any of its monthly meetings for KFNV members. Please contact the operations Coordinator at kfnvinfo@gmail.com, or leave a voicemail at (301) 799-8104 to arrange for transportation.

For most of the KFNV monthly events, membership is required; but membership is as easy as filling out an on-line or mail-in form.  Although there is no fee to become a KFNV member, the KFNV does, however, accept and welcome donations; for these donations help defray the cost of KFNV services and events.  For information on how to register for any of the above events, to request a service, to become a KFNV member, or to make a donation, please contact the Operations Coordinator at kfnvinfo@gmail.com, leave a voicemail at (301) 799-8104, or view the KFNV website at  www.kfnv.org
