Events

The King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV) has the following events scheduled for the last two weeks of October.

  1. The KFNV Walking Club continues its walks this week Monday-Thursday at 8 am except in the case of inclement weather. The group meets in the park across from The Fontina Grille.
  • Please watch for an email cancelling this event since the National Portrait Gallery is currently closed because of the government shut down.

On Monday, October 27, 2025, the KFNV Metro Club will visit the National Portrait Gallery’s current exhibit: Star Power-Photographs from Hollywood’s Golden Age.

The particulars of this activity are:

  • The KFNV Metro Club participants will meet on the Shady Grove Metro platform at 10:00 am to board the train at 10:39 am for the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro Stop.
  • We will take a short walk to the museum which opens at 11:30 am.
  • We will meet in the F Street lobby and take the walk-in tour at noon.
  • After the tour, we will lunch at the museum’s Courtyard Café.

Please note that you must be a KFNV member to join this excursion; however, joining the KFNV is free and is open to all adult residents of King Farm. Please see below under “Contacting the KFNV” for the easy process to become a KFNV member.

  • On Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 10:00-11:30 am, KFNV Coffee and Conversation participants will meet in the King Farm Community Center to celebrate Diwali with treats, costumes, and a better understanding of Indian culture.

Services

The KFNV continues to support King Farm residents with its community services: transportation to appointments, simple household tasks, friendly phone calls/texts, and friendly visits. Please feel free to avail yourself of all of the community services that the KFNV offers. If you are in doubt about whether a task could be performed by one of the KFNV volunteers, go ahead and fill out the service form on the KFNV website. Our Operations Team will get back to you to determine if the task is under our umbrella of tasks. Also, please note that services are open to KFNV members only; however, membership is free and an easy process. See below on how to contact the KFNV to schedule any of the services or with any questions that you may have about the services as well as how to become a KFNV member.

Contacting the KFNV

For most of the KFNV monthly events as well as all the services, membership is required; but membership is as easy as filling out an on-line or mail-in form with residency in the King Farm community being the only membership requirement.  We are a multi-generational Village; therefore, the KFNV welcomes all adult King Farm residents of all ages.

Although there is no fee to become a KFNV member, the KFNV does, however, accept and welcome donations; for these donations help defray the cost of KFNV services and events.

For information on how to register for any of the events, to request a service or a ride, to become a KFNV member or a volunteer, or to make a donation, please contact the Operations Coordinator by calling (301) 799-8104 to  leave a voicemail,  emailing the KFNV at kfnvinfo@gmail.com , or viewing the KFNV website at  www.kfnv.org.
