King Farm Concert on the Lawn Tomorrow Night
The King Farm Summer Concerts on the Lawn returns tomorrow night with newcomer Capital Chill. The concert will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the Saddle Ridge lawn (300 Saddle Ridge Circle). Pack your dinner, drinks and bring your friends and family for a fun night of music on the lawn.
Concrete and Paving Project
Due to impending thunderstorms and rain, Day 1 concrete work was moved to today and should be completed today barring any weather delays.
The area originally scheduled for today (Day 2, July 7th) will be completed next Friday, July 14th.
Cars will be relocated if not moved. Please review signs in the curb grass.

King Farm Pools Open for Swim
The summer season is here and the pools are open for daily from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. However, there are some schedule changes due to King Farm Swim Team meets. You can find the schedule here: https://kingfarm.org/citizens-assembly-pools/.
We want to remind everyone that you MUST have either a physical Key Fob or Mobile Amenities Pass to access the pools.
Your picture is attached to the key fob and mobile pass. Please be sure the key fob or pass you use is assigned to you. Guards can look up your information, but if it doesn’t match or it isn’t available, entry may be denied. Please be patient.
WALK-INS ARE WELCOME BUT APPOINTMENTS PREFERRED MONDAY – THURSDAY 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM AND FRIDAY FROM 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM at 300 SADDLE RIDGE CIRCLE. Email management@kingfarm.org or call 301-987-0122.
If you are delinquent in your monthly assessment fees, you will not have access the pools.
The King Farm pools will be open for Early Morning Swim only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Early morning swim will start at 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Saddle Ridge pool (300 Saddle Ridge Circle) and Thursdays at the Crestfield/Bailey’s Commons pool. Please note: the early morning swim at Saddle Ridge will not be available while the King Farm Swim Team is practicing in the morning through July 22nd.
The swim team will be busy practicing during the morning and evening hours and will be hosting several home swim meets during select Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. The Saddle Ridge Circle pool will be closed during swim meets; however, the Bailey’s Commons pool will be open.
We want everyone to enjoy their time at the pool, but we expect people to be respectful while patronizing the pool. Be sure to review the pool rules. Violations of the rules can result in the loss of pool privileges. It is important that you and your guests are familiar with the rules.
Please remember to follow lifeguard instructions. Failure to follow lifeguard instructions can result in the suspension of the use of the pool for a day, a week, or the remainder of the season.

King Farm Neighbors Village News (KFNV)
The King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV) started its July activities with Movie Club on July 6th where participants reviewed the film She Said, a 2022 biographical drama based on the 2019 book of the same name by reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. She Said follows Kantor and Twohey’s New York Times investigation that exposed Harvey Weinstein’s history of abuse and sexual misconduct against women. Movie Club members agreed with Ann Hornaday of The Washington Post that “Schrader (the director) films She Said with a bracing combination of straightforwardness and sensitivity, staging the most prurient details of Weinstein’s case with somber restraint rather than salacious literalism.”
More July Events
- The Walking Club will continue with its Monday-Thursday strolls, starting at 4 pm. The group will meet at the park across from Fontina Grille.
- On July 13, 2023, the KFNV Book Club will meet from 12:30-2:00 pm, to discuss the novel, The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray. The Personal Librarian tells the story of JPMorgan’s personal librarian, Bella da Costa Greene, who was hired by Morgan in the 1920’s to curate a collection of books, artwork, and manuscripts for the Pierpont Morgan Library. Ms. da Costa Greene, however, has a secret she must hide at all costs for the protection of her family. “An untold story that is simply amazing. It’s timely and impactful,” Brenda Jackson, New York Times bestselling author of Follow Your Heart.
- On July 19, 2023 from 10:00-11:30 am, Coffee and Conversation participants will welcome Barry Jackson, President of the King Farm Citizens Assembly who will discuss developments in King Farm and answer participants’ questions regarding the King Farm community.
- On July 20, 2023 from 1:00-300 pm, The KFNV Friends Club will continue with its monthly luncheons at The Fontina Grille, 801 Pleasant Drive.
- On July 27, 2023 from 4:00 -5:00 pm, the KFNV will host its monthly highlight event: a photo journal presentation by Kathryn Mohrman. Ms. Mohrman’s presentation, entitled, Tribal Angola, will showcase her summer of 2022 visiting seven tribes in southwestern Angola who still live as their ancestors did. As Ms. Mohrman stated, “When I registered for a photo tour to Angola, I had no idea I was signing up for time travel.” Please join Ms. Mohrman and the KFNV for a unique trip back in time!
Please note that the KFNV has changed its monthly Movie Club, Book Club, Coffee and Conversation gatherings, and highlight events to in-person meetings and has reserved the King Farm Community Center, 300 Saddle Ridge Circle, Rockville, MD 20850 for these events. In accordance with the policy adopted by the KFNV Board of Directors, people attending KFNV sponsored, in-person events must be vaccinated per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID recommendations. Wearing a mask is optional. In case of inclement weather and if there is time to notify participants, the KFNV may opt for a Zoom presentation for any meeting or event. Therefore, the KFNV will not be offering a hybrid option for any future events. Finally, the KFNV offers transportation to many of its monthly events for KFNV members. Services
The KFNV continues to support King Farm residents with its community services. Transportation services continue to be the top category for KFNV services; however, many requests for simple household tasks have been fulfilled. As a happy, recent recipient of a task fulfilled by our volunteers reported, “Once again, (the two volunteers) are just the best! So very grateful. Thank you thank you.” Other recent tasks that KFNV volunteers have performed are:
- Moved unused tiles from a condominium guest room to a garage,
- Watered indoor plants and checked on condo for a vacationing KFNV member,
- Removed and replaced light bulb in washer/dryer closet of a condo,
- Adjusted furnace duct in a utility room of a King Farm home; and
- Carried a table down a staircase to the ground floor and outside to load in a car for donation.
As you can see, the tasks have been quite varied. If you are in doubt about whether a task could be performed by one of the KFNV volunteers, go ahead and fill out the service form on the KFNV website. Our Operations Team will get back to you to determine if the task is under our umbrella of tasks.
Besides transportation and simple household tasks, the KFNV also offers friendly phone calls, texts, and friendly visits. Please feel free to avail yourself of all of the community services that the KFNV offers. Please note that services are open to KFNV members only; however, membership is free and an easy process. See below on how to contact the KFNV to schedule any of the services or with any questions that you may have about the services as well as how to become a KFNV member.
Volunteers Wanted
The KFNV is looking for “a few good volunteers” to provide community services to its members. The KFNV is looking for volunteer assistance —from serving on committees like the Events Committee, to assisting the Operations Coordinator, Communications Coordinator, or the Webmaster to providing transportation services to our members. For most of the KFNV monthly events as well as the services, membership is required; but membership is as easy as filling out an on-line or mail-in form with residency in the King Farm Community being the only membership requirement. Although there is no fee to become a KFNV member, the KFNV does, however, accept and welcome donations; for these donations help defray the cost of KFNV services and events.

ockView Program
If you have a ring camera (or other front door/doorbell camera), you can register it with the RCPD. The RockView program allows residents and business owners to voluntary register their privately owned video security camera systems with the RCPD. Registration in the RockView program does not enable law enforcement to view camera footage without an owner’s permission. However, the RockView program will allow city police to quickly identify security cameras that may have captured criminal activity when a crime is reported nearby.
