MONTGOMERY COUNTY COLD EMERGENCY ALERT

A Cold Emergency Alert has been extended for Montgomery County until Tuesday, 2/3 at 12pm. Residents should be prepared for wind chill values to be below 20 degrees. These dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin within 30 minutes and/or hypothermia. Stay indoors if possible. More info: https://bit.ly/2JdmQ3C

SNOW/ICE CLEAN UP PROGRESS

This weather event posed and continues to pose challenges for the area, but even more so in King Farm, because the community is densely populated with narrow streets, parking constraints, and limited areas to move and pile snow. The snow totals combined with extremely low temperatures and ice accumulations have made servicing this event very challenging: traction issues, physical impairment for the crew members, equipment failures, and shoveling difficulties (metal required due to the ice).

Crews continue to plow and perform cleanup and detailing work (all week) to move snow from areas where they may have initially plowed snow. keep in mind, both KFCA and the City of Rockville have limited space to place snow.

Please also note that residents are responsible for shoveling out their own vehicles from parking spaces. PLEASE DO NOT SHOVEL SNOW OUT INTO THE STREETS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN PLOWED.

If your KFCA street has not been plowed or requires additional attention, please email Management@Kingfarm.org with your address or the location address in the subject line. In the body of the email, include your name and phone number in case we need to contact you for additional information.

We will forward City of Rockville issues to the Department of Public Works. You can call or email as well: 240-314-8750 or email pw@rockvillemd.gov.

PLEASE INCLUDE PICTURES with the email. We prioritize the list based on severity of the conditions.

The conditions are extremely cold and icy and the work is labor intensive. As the crews and Management work on the cleanup efforts, your patience and understanding is appreciated while we work through this challenging situation.

BE A CONSIDERATE PET OWNER

It is important to remember that even though King Farm is a pet-friendly community, every pet owner must do their part in ensuring that the rules are followed. Being a conscientious pet owner means that whoever is walking the pet must clean up all excrement, even when there is snow on the ground. That is the law!

Leaving waste behind is unsanitary, against KFCA guidelines, and inconsiderate to your neighbors who also use sidewalks, grassy areas, and common spaces. We appreciate your help in keeping the community clean and safe for everyone, two- and four-legged alike.

ANNUAL PROPERTY LOT INSPECTIONS

2026 COMMUNITY INSPECTIONS HAVE STARTED

The initial notice will provide a compliance date to bring the noted items into compliance. An email will also be sent to homeowners from the management office.
