Events

The King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV) has the following events scheduled for the first month of spring.

1. Please meet up with the KFNV Walking Club Monday through Thursday at 3:45 pm sharp at the park across from Fontina’s Grill at 801 Pleasant Dr, Rockville, MD 20850. If you haven’t joined before and plan to, please send a message to kfnvinfo@gmail.com letting the Walking Club know you want to be on the Walking Club Mailing List. The Walking Club does not meet when the weather is inclement.

2. Movie Club members will meet in the Community Center on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 2:00-3:00 pm to review the film, Sing Sing, a 2023 drama based upon the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts Program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison. The film centers on a group of incarcerated men who create stage shows through the program.

3. On Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 12:30-2:00 pm, Book Club members will meet in the Community Center to discuss the novel, The Deep End of the Ocean by Jacquelyn Mitchard. People Magazine describes the novel as “A drama with the tension of a thriller that moves deeply into the emotional territory of family ties.”

4. On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the Metro Club will visit National Museum of Women in the Arts.

The particulars of the visit are:

· The KFNV Metro Club will meet on the Shady Grove Metro platform at 9:15 am to take the 9:20 am train to Metro Center. The museum is a short walk from the station.

· You may purchase a ticket at the museum. The cost is $13 for adults 65 and over.

· We will join a docent – led 11:00 am tour.

· After touring the museum, you are welcome to join the group for lunch at a nearby café.

· We plan to return before 3:00 pm to the Shady Grove Station.

Please note you must be a member of the KFNV to participate in this event; however, membership is as easy as filling out an on-line or mail-in form with residency in the King Farm community being the only membership requirement. Please see below under “Contacting the KFNV” for how to become a member.

5. On Thursday, April 23, 2026, the KFNV Friends will meet for lunch at Bon Fresco Restaurant, 534 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD 20850 from 1:00-3:00 pm. Please note: this is a meet-up event and everyone is responsible for the cost of their own meal. Come and enjoy a delicious lunch on, hopefully, a beautiful spring day.

6. For its April Highlight Event, the KFNV is hosting its first ever Trivia Night on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 7:00-8:30 pm in the King Farm Community Center.

Space is limited, so please register asap.

Come enjoy a friendly trivia competition with your King Farm neighbors, as this event is open to all King Farmers, and is not limited to KFNV members only.

We hope to see you there. Let’s see what we all have learned from watching Jeopardy!

7. On Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 am in the King Farm Community Center, the KFNV will host the monthly Coffee & Conversation. The topic will be: What advice would you give your younger self? Come and reflect on your younger self with your King Farm neighbors.

Services

The KFNV continues to support King Farm residents with its community services: transportation to appointments, simple household tasks, some pet services, friendly phone calls/texts, and friendly visits. Please feel free to avail yourself of all of the community services that the KFNV offers. If you are in doubt about whether a task could be performed by one of the

KFNV volunteers, go ahead and fill out the service form on the KFNV website. Our Operations Team will get back to you to determine if the task is under our umbrella of tasks. Also, please note that services are open to KFNV members only; however, membership is free and an easy process. See below on how to contact the KFNV to schedule any of the services or with any questions that you may have about the services as well as how to become a KFNV member.

Contacting the KFNV

For most of the KFNV monthly events as well as all the services, membership is required; but membership is as easy as filling out an on-line or mail-in form with residency in the King Farm community being the only membership requirement. We are a multi-generational Village; therefore, the KFNV welcomes all adult King Farm residents of all ages.

Although there is no fee to become a KFNV member, the KFNV does, however, accept and welcome donations; for these donations help defray the cost of KFNV services and events.
