Events

The King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV) continues its July activities with the following:

  1. The KFNV Walking Club continues its daily jaunts on Monday-Thursday at 4 pm, except in the case of inclement weather. The group meets in the park across from The Fontina Grille.
  • On Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 1:00-3:00 pm, The KFNV Friends will meet for lunch at Bon Fresco, 534 Gaither Rd, Rockville, MD 20850. This is a KFNV Friends Club meetup, and everyone is responsible to pay for their own lunch.
  • Coffee and Conversation participants will meet in the King Farm Community Center from 10:00-11:30 am where the topic will be: We are all immigrants. Where did your family come from?  Come and enjoy an engaging and interesting conversation about you and your King Farm neighbors’ familial roots.
  • The next day on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 4:00-5:00 pm, KFNV will host its monthly highlight event with a presentation by Steve Lorberbaum from Assisting Hands, entitled: Choosing to be at Home as We Age.  The presentation will include a question-and-answer period.  This program is open to the entire King Farm Community. You do not have to be a KFNV member to attend this presentation.
  • On Thursday July 31, 2025, the KFNV Metro Club will metro to Strathmore Mansion to view the Colored Pencil Art Exhibition. This exhibition will showcase the remarkable versatility of a familiar medium in this annual international exhibition from the Colored Pencil Society of America.

The KFNV group will meet on the Shady Grove Metro platform at 11:00 am to board the metro at 11:15 am and arrive at the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Stop about 11:30 am. We will enter the Strathmore Mansion around noon to view the Pencil Art Exhibition. Afterwards, we will metro back to Shady Grove where you are welcome to join the group for lunch at a place we agree on in King Farm.

Please note that you must be a KFNV member to join this excursion; however, joining the KFNV is free and is open to all adult residents of King Farm. Please see below under “Contacting the KFNV” for the easy process to become a KFNV member.

Services

The KFNV continues to support King Farm residents with its community services: transportation to appointments, simple household tasks, friendly phone calls/texts, and friendly visits. Please feel free to avail yourself of all of the community services that the KFNV offers. If you are in doubt about whether a task could be performed by one of the KFNV volunteers, go ahead and fill out the service form on the KFNV website. Our Operations Team will get back to you to determine if the task is under our umbrella of tasks. Also, please note that services are open to KFNV members only; however, membership is free and an easy process. See below on how to contact the KFNV to schedule any of the services or with any questions that you may have about the services as well as how to become a KFNV member.

Contacting the KFNV

For most of the KFNV monthly events as well as all the services, membership is required; but membership is as easy as filling out an on-line or mail-in form with residency in the King Farm community being the only membership requirement.  We are a multi-generational Village; therefore, the KFNV welcomes all adult King Farm residents of all ages.

Although there is no fee to become a KFNV member, the KFNV does, however, accept and welcome donations; for these donations help defray the cost of KFNV services and events.

For information on how to register for any of the events, to request a service or a ride, to become a KFNV member or a volunteer, or to make a donation, please contact the Operations Coordinator by calling (301) 799-8104 to  leave a voicemail,  emailing the KFNV at kfnvinfo@gmail.com , or viewing the KFNV website at  www.kfnv.org.
