Conversations with the City Virtual Event – 03/16/2022
King Farm Citizens Assembly (KFCA) President, Barry Jackson, and the External Affairs committee is hosting a virtual event called Conversation with the City at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 16th, 2022, following the King Farm Board of Trustees meeting. Representatives from the City of Rockville have been invited and will be attending the meeting.
To attend, you must register in advance using the Zoom webinar registration link (https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_-weXOBFeSNSitGDod1Jlcg) which can be found on the King Farm website (https://kingfarm.org/zoom-meeting-links/). Please submit any questions in advance using the Zoom registration form or submit your questions to the External Affairs committee at externalaffairs@kingfarm.org.
Depending on the number of questions received, there may be time for participants to ask questions live or using the chat feature in zoom.
Meetings are for King Farm Titleholders and Citizens only. Registrants will be verified to ensure participants are titleholders/citizens.
Organic Spring Turf Application – 3/14/22
Community Landscape Services (CLS) will be on the property for spring turf fertilizer applications. The turf fertilization application is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 14th through Wednesday, March 16th (contingent upon weather).
All applications are organic (SDS sheets are included in the linked attachment) and all treated areas will be properly marked. If you have any questions regarding this service, please contact management@kingfarm.org.

Annual Meeting & Election (virtual) – Wednesday, April 27th
The King Farm Citizens Assembly (“Assembly”) will hold its Annual Meeting of the membership on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022. The primary purpose of the meeting is for the election of President and two (2) Board of Trustees seats. The Assembly’s Annual Meeting will start at 7:00 pm during which the election winners will be announced and installed.
The meeting will be held via Zoom webinar and registration is required to attend. A Zoom registration link for the webinar will be provided and available on the King Farm website in the coming weeks. As a reminder, the last day to register to vote in the election (Titleholders on file are automatically registered) is Friday, April 1st, 2022 by 12:00 PM. The King Farm Citizens Registration Form can be downloaded from the King Farm website or from the internal documents within the FrontSteps Resident Portal under Annual Meeting & Election / 2022 Annual Meeting and Election.

Montgomery County Updates:
County School Board Expected to Remove Mask Mandate at March 8th Meeting – On Friday Feb. 25, a state legislative committee voted to approve a new policy by the State Board of Education that would pave the way for local school districts to make masks optional, letting school districts set standards for mask use. Montgomery County government’s indoor mask mandate ended at 11:59 pm last Monday, but it does not cover schools. The Montgomery County School Board will take up the matter on March 8th. It is anticipated that the board will vote in favor of removing its mask mandate.
County Lifts Indoor Mask Requirement – The County Council, meeting as the Board of Health on Jan. 25, enacted an updated regulation that terminated the County’s indoor masking requirement in public spaces as of 11:59 PM on Monday, Feb. 21st, 2022.
Financial Assistance is Available for Homeowners Impacted by COVID –
The Maryland Homeowner Assistance Fund can provide grants or loans for delinquent mortgage payments, past due association fees, past due real estate taxes and for repairs and energy efficiency improvements. Eligibility is based on income and COVID impact; owner occupancy is required. Applications are open now at the Maryland Homeowner Assistance Fund program. https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/dhca/covid-19/homeowners.html. King Farm Neighbors Village News (KFNV)
EVENTS:
The King Farm Neighbors Village (KFNV) started out its March activities with a discussion yesterday of the movie, In the Heights, a 2021 musical drama film based upon the musical play of the same name. KFNV participants agreed with the 97% rating given by Rotten Tomatoes.
Looking forward to the rest of March, the KFNV has the following monthly events scheduled:
- Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 12:30-2:00 pm – The KFNV Book Club will hold a discussion on the historical fiction novel, Paper Wife by Laila Ibrahim. Paper Wife tells the story of a young Chinese woman, Mei Ling, who endures the arduous voyage to the United States to enter into an arranged marriage as a “paper wife” to a widower in San Francisco. One review states that the novel is, “a heart-wrenching story about finding strength in a new world”, Amazon.com.
- Wednesday, March 16, 2022, from 10:00-11:30 am – KFNV participants will virtually gather for Coffee and Conversation where the topic will be: “music and memories of your musical experiences over the years”. You are welcome to bring visuals to support your choice.
- Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 4:00-5:00 pm – The KFNV will host its March highlight event entitled: “How to Protect Your Assets from Probate and Long-term Care”. Evan H. Farr, Esquire, a Certified Elder Law Attorney of the Farr Law Firm (farrlawfirm.com) will present a virtual program on asset protection. This virtual program is open to all members of the King Farm community, as KFNV membership is not required for attendance.

City of Rockville Parking Permits for King Farm Streets Expiring Soon
Parking Districts Expiration Dates
The City of Rockville has nine parking districts. Each district has a 3-year renewal cycle. The City streets in King Farm are part of parking district “F”, which will expire March 31, 2022.
Effective 12/8/2021: The 3 year renewal rate for parking permits is $15 per car. The rates decrease or are prorated by year in the amount of $5, until the end of each respective cycle.
