King Farm Summer Concert Finale – Tomorrow Night!
The King Farm Summer Concert Series finale will be held tomorrow, Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the lawn at 300 Saddle Ridge Circle. The band “Thunderball” will be performing and is a community favorite!! So be sure to bring a lawn chair, some food and friends and let’s send out the summer with a rockin’ good concert.
Observance of 9-11 – Patriot Day
Saturday, September 11th is Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance. On this day Americans across the country are called to volunteer in their local communities in tribute to the individuals lost and injured in the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, first responders, and the many who have risen in service to defend freedom.

King Farm Board & Committee Meetings
All King Farm meetings have been held virtually since March of 2020. Residents can easily find the Zoom registration links for all upcoming King Farm Board of Trustees and Committee meetings online by visiting King Farm website under the “Board & Committees” dropdown / “Zoom Meeting Links” page (https://kingfarm.org/zoom-meeting-links/). Information about upcoming board and committee meetings can also be found in the King Farm Chronicle (https://kingfarm.org/king-farm-chronicle/).
To attend the Zoom meetings, you must register in advance. Each meeting will have an open forum for residents to ask questions or make comments (limited to 3 minutes speaking time per resident). As part of the registration process, registrants must submit their contact information (name, street address, email, and phone number) and select yes or no if they would like to speak during open forum. If you would like to speak during open forum, please provide the topic you will be speaking about.

Rockville City Police Community Open House

An open house at the city’s police station will offer an opportunity to get to know the men and women who protect and serve Rockville. The Rockville City Police Department will welcome the community to an open house from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, featuring vehicle and equipment displays, K-9 demonstrations, inflatables, a DJ, food, treats, information booths, a visit by McGruff the Crime Dog, and the opportunity to meet city police offers. Free parking will be available two blocks away at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave.
City of Rockville Doggie Dip Day

Rockville Senior Center is hosting the First Annual Fall Festival for grandparents, grandchildren and families of all ages. Participate in fitness demonstrations including Strength Training, La Blast and Line Dancing. The “Oh Boy Pizza and Ice Cream” food truck will provide food for purchase.

September KFNV Events:
1. Highlight Event: Glen Echo Park
Unfortunately, the Glen Echo Park tour on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 had to be cancelled because of inclement weather. The KFNV hopes to be able to reschedule the event in the spring of 2023.
2. Book Club on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm, Book Club participants met in the King Farm Community Center and via Zoom to discuss the novel, The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner. The participants agreed with the NPR review that Ms. Penner’s novel is “A poisonously good read…Surprises right up until the final paragraph.”
3. Coffee and Conversation on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 10:00 am where the topic will be: What have been your favorite travels? Participants are welcome to bring pictures to show their favorite travels.
4. September’s 2nd Highlight Event: 10 Ways to Live a Kick-ass Life on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm in the King Farm Community Center. Dr. Liz Wheeler, owner and CEO of Launch Physical Therapy and Fitness Coaching, located here in King Farm, will offer a presentation with Questions and Answers on how to live a full, healthy, and active life. All members of the King Farm community are invited to this in-person event. You do not have to be a member of the KFNV to participate in this event.
Please note that the KFNV Book Club, Movie Club, and Coffee and Conversation meet in hybrid form—both in-person and virtually. Specifically, the KFNV has reserved the King Farm Community Center, 300 Saddle Ridge Circle, Rockville, MD 20850 for these in-person meetings. In accordance with the policy adopted by the KFNV Board of Directors, people attending KFNV sponsored, in-person events must be vaccinated per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID recommendations. Wearing a mask is optional. For those unable to join in-person, the KFNV will offer a Zoom option. Finally, the KFNV offers transportation to any of its monthly meetings for KFNV members.
